MECHANICAL DESIGN AUTOMATION
Do you remember seeing some of the powerful technology that SOLIDWORKS was bringing to the table back in 1998? Are you using it today? Watch this video to see the live SOLIDWORKS demonstration with Bill Gates at the Workstation Leadership Forum ’98. Over the years, SOLIDWORKS continues to lead in its integration with Windows. This session will showcase the enhanced feature rich technology and how it’s even easier to use with SOLIDWORKS 2017.
PRODUCTIVE ASSEMBLY MODELING PRACTICES
Are you consuming too much coffee waiting for your assemblies to open or rebuild? Find out why, and what you can do to improve it. This session will take an in-depth look at best practices and techniques to increase your productivity throughout the day. Discover new and useful tools you may have missed over the years, providing you with everything you need to focus on the design not CAD.
AUTOMATING & MANAGING YOUR DESIGNS
Similar designs with slight variations are commonplace in many industries. This session focuses on different techniques to automate the creation and management of configurable designs. Understand how design teams can work together to produce top-quality product data in a shorter amount of time. This session focuses on the use of SOLIDWORKS, DriveWorks, and SOLIDWORKS PDM to showcase the ease and power of configurable product design.
MODEL MANIA LIVE
The Model Mania contest has been a SOLIDWORKS World tradition since 2000. The presenter has placed 3rd in the reseller community twice (2013 and 2015) and always practicing to improve. This presentation looks back at the previous part designs and reviews the critical features and options necessary to post a winning time. These tips and tricks will also save you time in your day to day part modeling.
SOLIDWORKS API: MACRO FEATURES
Macro features are a little used and powerful feature in the SOLIDWORKS API. This session explores what they are and how they work. We’ll work through their life-cycle and the specific API calls necessary for them to work correctly. We will also show a real life example of a macro feature built specifically to simplify one of our models and touch briefly on the SOLIDWORKS IModeler interface.
APPLYING WELDMENTS FOR A BOLTED STRUCTURE
Learn the ins and outs of weldment design for bolted structures. Understand the advantages associated with using weldments in SOLIDWORKS and how to apply the various tools to complete complex weldment designs. This session will take you through weldment design setup and understanding how to use SOLIDWORKS tools to get the most out of weldments.
SOLIDWORKS 3D INTERCONNECT
Many engineers and designers do not have the luxury of only working in one CAD format. Consultants, Mold Designers, and anyone who works with multiple companies is likely to need to use more than one CAD tool. Until recently, the only solution was to either translate models or redesign them. SOLIDWORKS has developed a better solution. With 3D Interconnect, you can simply open and use other CAD formats in SOLIDWORKS, and use them as if they were designed in SOLIDWORKS. The models are linked back to the original CAD files, so when a change is made, it also updates in SOLIDWORKS! Come to this session and learn about this time-saving interoperability tool.
INTRO TO SOLIDWORKS PCB
Come see how SOLIDWORKS is making PCB design easy and accessible for everyone. SOLIDWORKS PCB is bringing mechanical and electrical design together, helping to reduce design iterations, create more complex integrated designs, and bring connectivity to new markets. Interested in working smarter with PCB designers? This is the session for you.
ADVANCED SOLIDWORKS ELECTRICAL SCHEMATICS
Every year SOLIDWORKS releases new time saving enhancements to SOLIDWORKS Electrical. In this session we will cover some powerful features that have been added in the last few years to schematics. Topics include using harnesses and reports to create easy to read wiring diagrams, modifying reports, the connector tool along with many other productivity enhancements.
Come see how SOLIDWORKS Electrical, PCB, Mechanical, and PDM all work together. When creating intelligent integrated designs it is important that everyone can collaborate, working efficiently with every group involved.
INNOVATION IN DESIGN VALIDATION
Did you miss one of our launch events? Looking for ways to be more productive setting up and running your simulation studies? This session will take you back in time and explore the many improved and powerful new capabilities of SOLIDWORKS Simulation products. Don’t miss this opportunity to get caught up on What’s New in the world of design validation.
OPTIMIZING SOLIDWORKS FLOW SIMULATION FOR MULTI-USER ENVIRONMENTS
Make it easy for new and existing users to get more value out of Flow Simulation. Often, you may start from scratch creating virtual tests for your designs. Learn how to optimize your analysis project creation and discover best practices for configuring user settings to eliminate delays in creating studies and publishing results.
GETTING QUALITY RESULTS WITH YOUR SIMULATION
Virtual design validation is a valuable tool in helping you to continuously improve your products and test new ideas. Learn what it takes to get started with virtual design validation, and best practices to ensure good quality results. With Finite Element Analysis, you can help your company predict potential design failures, and foster innovation with improved design.
MODEL BASED SUCCESS
Develop your skills creating 3D Product Manufacturing Information (PMI). Reuse this data to reduce time creating 2D drawings or publish to popular 3D formats for manufacturing. Automate your tolerance stack-up analysis.
DESIGN FOR CASTABILITY
Designing a part for metal casting can be a challenge, but it doesn’t have to be. Using Draft- and Undercut Analysis tools in SOLIDWORKS, along with a good draft and parting line strategy, can improve not only the manufacture of your part, but also your relationship with the foundry.
INTERACTIVE WORK INSTRUCTIONS FOR MANUFACTURING
How effective are you communicating your assembly process internally or to your customers? Are they being delivered the best experience possible? Effective technical communications is a must when it comes to beating out the competition. Discover what it takes to create product communication deliverables early in the design process. Leverage existing CAD design data ensuring your documentation is always up to date with the latest changes.
ADDING VALUE TO ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
Ever wondered why your 3D printed parts don’t turn out how you expected? Looking for ways to make more functional parts using additive manufacturing? This session will focus on design techniques and printing optimizations that will help make your parts more effective with less time and material spent printing parts that ultimately end up in the trash or worse, fail when you need them most.
Computer Aided Manufacturing has taken a front-seat product focus with the introduction of a new CAM offering that will be released with SOLIDWORKS 2018. A live review of the features and functionality will be presented by John Milbery, SOLIDWORKS Technical Sales Director and Product Specialist for SOLIDWORKS CAM.
Take the SOLIDWORKS benefits of full associativity all the way to your CNC Machine Tools. Discover how Mastercam, a Gold Partner of SOLIDWORKS, can immediately adjust existing machining processes from design changes within ‘Mastercam for SOLIDWORKS’, to give associativity all the way to your machine tool processes for both Mill & Lathe.
